The Forest pansy redbud is an excellent small specimen tree for almost any landscape. The leaves emerge in spring with a dark red-purple color and fades throughout the season to lighter color. It does well in most locations with the exception of moist sites and is extremely adaptable to many soil types. Like any tree it will need watering during establishment, but it should require little maintenance once established.
